As human beings, there is often a tension as we seek to find understanding. This is something that I’ve explored a lot as a parent as I work to understand myself and the inner workings of my children in their development. “Big Brains” reminds us of the commonalities that we have and the opportunities we have to transcend our differences.
“Be Brave” was written with a group of third graders at Washington Montessori. I found the message so powerful and relevant that I was moved to record it for the album. “We can learn how to engage. Courage is good for your health.”
